Research on Pedestrian Protection Test Methods

Based on a draft pedestrian protection test method that is currently proposed internationally by EEVC, the Laboratory is conducting impact tests using an impacter that simulates the head of a pedestrian onto a vehicle. These tests are made to study the current pedestrian protection performance of vehicles. Furthermore, the Laboratory uses computer simulations to study differences in mechanisms of injuries in pedestrian accidents depending on the vehicle shape.
