Research of Quantitative Safety Evaluation Techniques for Rail Systems and Accident Forecast Models

		Research on Prevention of Railway Accidents
		Serious railway accidents are still occurring and social demands for analysis of accidents and implementation of measures to prevent railway accidents are mounting high. The Laboratory has studied and analyzed causes of large railway accidents for prevention of accidents. Through these experiences, the laboratory is making quantitative analyses of accidents and is performing basic research on quantitative evaluation techniques for safety. These analyses and researches contribute to implementing measures to prevent accidents and to realize high safety level of railway systems.

Investigation of Railway Collision Accident

Investigations of the causes of train derailment accidents (Lifting up each wheel according to the cant and investigate the effect on wheel weight, etc.)
