Low-Visibility Test Building

Visibility of lights that display information to various transport facilities in poor conditions such as in fog is an important issue for traffic safety. In particular, visibility of airport lights directly affects operation and closure of airports, thereby affecting whether flight operations remain on schedule.
In this building, fog is generated with particle size is almost the same as that of natural fog, and an ambient brightness can be set over a wide range. The building is used to test and study subjects such including how lights are viewed in a fog, technology to optimally display lights, the scattering characteristics of light.
