Research on the Technical Evaluation of Electric Railroads that Utilize Electromagnetic Technology
New transportation systems are being developed using a variety of electromagnetic technologies such as linear motors, permanent magnets, super conductive magnets, and radio transmission. The Laboratory is conducting research on evaluation methods for the safety of the new technologies as well as measuring and evaluation methods for the electromagnetic fields radiated by such transportation systems.
This research is expected to contribute to the recognition of the safety and practicability of the new transportation systems which use various electromagnetic technologies and consequently to help promote their widespread use. With regard to the electromagnetic field, which, is radiated from the systems, the collection and accumulation of data through a standardized measuring method will enable to meet international standards.
