Analysis of Tire Noise Generation Mechanism and Noise Reduction Techniques

Analysis of Tire Noise Generation Mechanism and Noise Reduction Techniques

Tire noise in cities and on expressways is becoming a problem and measures to reduce it are indispensable. Tire noise during acceleration varies according to tire types, but is known to increase more than during coasting. The mechanism that causes noise increases has not been fully clarified yet. In this research project, an electric vehicle is used to analyze tire noise during acceleration on test roads and laboratory equipment using acoustic holography and acoustic intensity methods, to analyze the noise generation mechanism and to develop an effective noise reduction technique.
